ZZ plant care
zz plant care
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light but adapts well to low-light, making them ideal for offices or corners. Direct sun can scorch leaves.
Water: Extremely drought-tolerant due to their water-storing rhizomes. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering leads to root rot, which is the primary cause of death.
Soil: Use a fast-draining potting mix, such as a mix specifically for succulent or cacti.
Temperature & Humidity: Prefer warm temperatures (65°F–90°F). Average household humidity is fine; they do not need special misting.
Fertilizer: Feed sparingly with a low-dose liquid fertilizer twice a year during the growing season (spring/summer).
Maintenance: Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and maintain shine. Prune yellow or brown stems at the base as needed.
toxicity: zz plants are mildly toxic to animals and humans
