Snake plant care
snake plants
are low-maintenance, hardy, and drought-tolerant houseplants that thrive in bright, indirect light but tolerate low light. They prefer well-draining succulent potting mix and require infrequent watering, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
Care Requirements:
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light, but can handle direct sunlight or low-light corners.
Watering: Allow soil to dry out completely, typically watering every 2–3 weeks in warmer months and once a month in winter.
Soil: Use a fast-draining, succulent, or cactus potting mix.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures between
65 F-85 F (18 C-30 C)
Fertilizer: Feed sparingly, once or twice a year with a balanced houseplant fertilizer during spring or summer.
Potting: Choose a container with drainage holes to prevent standing water.
Common Issues: Leaves turning yellow or getting mushy at the base indicates overwatering; brown, dry tips may indicate underwatering or low humidity.
Toxicity: Snake plants are toxic to cats and dogs and mildly toxic to humans.
